-     Always use only polishing cloth or any lint free cloth for polishing and cleaning the silver jewellery. Tissue papers and paper towels can also cause scratches on silver.
-     Make a paste of 3 parts soda and one part water. Rub this paste on your silver jewellery and other silver ware to clean them. Afterwards use warm water to clean this paste from the silver items and dry them off using a soft cloth.
-      To clean your jewellery lightly, use mild soap and water. Dip the jewellery in the solution and let it soak for some time. Afterwards wash it in running water and dry it with soft cloth.

Care of Silver jewellery
-     Try to keep the pieces separate so that they do not rub against each other or tangle up.
-     Silver needs to be cleaned on a regular basis as it gets tarnished over a period of time due to the exposure to the atmosphere.
-     Some items occasionally oxidise (turn black) as when they come in contact with the skin, the natural acids can react to the additional metals that make up the silver.
-     To maintain the original condition of the jewellery, polish with a non- abrasive cloth of a high quality silver cloth.
-     Hot soapy water will also help to keep the jewellery looking good, but always dry with a soft cloth, not tissue or paper towel.
-     You can immerse your silver in the water in which the potatoes have been boiled, this result in brilliant sparkle.
-     If the silver jewellery has gemstones studded init, then do not leave your gemstone studded jewellery immersed in water for too long as some gemstones are quite porous.
-     To clean the silverware and silver jewellery, you can also use tamarind paste. Rub this paste on your the items and then wipe it off with damp cloth. Dry it with a soft cloth.
