Feng shui and children
It is always advisable to create a supportive environment which can nurture the child and promote the all round and balanced growth of mind, body and spirit. Feng Shui offers some simple tips and remedies to which will ensure a positive and favourable environment for your child. • The size of the furniture in the child’s room should be according to their age group. The children should feel comfortable in their room with easy access to book shelves, dresser and other things in the room. The sense of control leads to self confidence, positive attitude, enhanced self esteem and creativity. • Bunk beds though popular, are not a favourable choice of the Feng Shui experts. The reason given is that the child sleeping on the top does not feel safe and the child sleeping on the lower bunk feels overpowered or claustrophobic. • Avoid using the beds made up of metal as the beds especially the bunk beds hold a high electromagnetic field that prevents the person from sleeping peacefully. • Avoid clutter in the child’s room as the clutter can lead to confusion, frustration, lack of focus, and feeling of disempowerment. • Avoid keeping electronic devices in the bedroom. Now a days many parents fill their children’s room with computer, television, i –pods, Video games players etc. This creates a space with high electromagnetic field (EMF) that disturbs the sleep and causes tiredness, allergies, headaches and hyperactivity in the kids. If it is impossible to remove the electronic items from the room, then the next possible solution is to unplug the devices and shut off the electrical power of these gadgets before going to sleep. • Energize the child’s room using fragrance such as essential oils that contain the bio-electric properties that can change the energy field of a room
