-     Schedule a regular time throughout the week for physical activity.
-     Take turns and select an activity for the family to do as group each week.
-     Combine exercise and household chores to add fun. Maybe the father can do the beds and do a number of push ups in between. Or you can do some squats while doing kitchen chores.
-     Keep aside a day every week when every member makes a conscious effort to eat healthy meals rich in fruits and vegetables.
-     Take active vacations which involve lots of sports with fun such as skiing, hiking, swimming etc.
-     Encourage all your family members to use the stairs rather than lifts and elevators wherever possible.
-     Add excitement in your activities by buying pedometers and have a contest to see who takes the most steps in a given week or time.
-     Take the entire family out for a post dinner walk or for that nice quite afternoon stroll (in winters) around your neighbourhood or nearby park.
-     Do the action packed household chores yourself such as washing the car, gardening or cleaning the garage.
-     Dance to your favourite music.
-     Go to zoo and walk and walk and enjoy........
-     Play games like Tag, Fire in the mountain with your kids and enjoy.
-     Become a member of clubs which indulge in sport activities like rock climbing, bowling, nature walk etc. The entire family can have an outing as well as receive the fitness benefits.
-     Take the dog for a walk.
-     Prepare a fitness chart. Give stars to various family members for fulfilling their fitness targets. This will have a healthy competition between the family members and will motivate them to achieve their goals.
