Teach someone else
The basic rule is that if you want to learn something, try to teach it to others. It has already been proved that teaching others definitely improves and increases one’s own understanding. Traditional teaching and studying various subjects and topics do help you to get knowledge and memorize ideas but teaching the subject to someone else forces one to get all the concepts clear and apply them to different situations. When you have to teach others, you are also expected to answer any potential questions that the audience or the student might raise. To answer these questions, you will have to thoroughly prepare your topic and explore the topic from all angles.

Write about the topic that you want to understand
It is often easy to learn and understand about some topic from a book however it is a completely different ball game to write about it either in the form an article, paper or even a book. Often writing an article involves through knowledge, investigation involving lots of search for different resource material which ultimately makes you an expert on that topic. Exploring different aspects of what you have learned will also help you to connect new ideas and create an interlinking web of knowledge integrating different subjects.

Take care of your brain and treat it well
The brain requires plenty of oxygen and energy to work efficiently. In the task of learning, you need to be feeding and treating your body well to maximise this process. To do that follow the tips given below:

  1. Eat every few hours to keep your blood sugar levels up
  2. Exercise on regular basis
  3. Try to relax a few minutes each day
  4. Sleep for at least seven hours each night
  5. Stay hydrated with water
  6. Eat a light lunch
  7. If you feel drowsy in the afternoons, try power walk.
  8. Eat food rich in omega 3.

Avoid and minimise the use of saturated fats found in foods such as butter, ghee, suet, lard, coconut oil, and dairy products. To find out the diet and food try the following brain food diet.

Starter- Avocado, spinach, lettuce salad, mixed with pine nuts, and toasted crumbled anchovies, and dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar

Dessert- dark chocolate with walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, candied fruit and peel, with red r blue berries, and kiwi compote
Drinks- Californian Cabernet sauvignon, green tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, glass of milk

Omega-3 –salmon, kiwi, walnuts
Curcumin-turmeric
Flavonoids-cocoa, green tea, citrus fruits, red wine, dark chocolate
Vitamine B, D &E- lentils, lettuce,
Vitamin C &carotene- citrus, and berry fruits
Calcium, zinc, & selenium- milk, nuts, fish
Copper- brazil nuts, cocoa, black pepper
Iron- fish, lentils

Learn and revise just before sleeping
The scientific evidence suggests that you can learn in the very light sleep that precedes deep sleep. The only thing that you can revise is the material like facts, dates, vocabulary, and other objective material. You cannot learn complex material during the first stages of the sleep.
