1. Make a "To Do" List Every Day. Priortise and decide what you should do first. Put things that are most important at the top and do them first. If it's easier, use a planner to track all of your tasks.Always encourage yourself bu rewarding your success and your accomplishments.
2. Use Spare Minutes Wisely. Try to use your free time more productively. Get some reading done or revise that long essay on the ride home from school.
3. Learn to say "No." Do not hesitate to say no to your friends even if it is those long phone calls where the friends want to discuss some answers with you. If the friends ask you to help them or go out with you for fun weekend and you have an important exam the next morning, onot feel pressurized and with out guilt say no. Keep your short and long-term priorities in mind.
4. Find the Right Time. Make your time table according to the times when you are sure you can be most productive.You'll work more efficiently if you figure out when you do your best work. For example, if your brain handles math better in the afternoon, don't wait to do it until late at night.
5. Review Your Notes Every Day. If youl reinforce what you've learned, you will need less time to study. You'll also be more prepared if your teacher asks questions in the class to test you or gives a pop quiz.
6. Get a Good Night's Sleep. Sound sleep and scheduled sleep is essential to relax your mind and one feels refreshed and rejuvenated. Learning becomes easier when the mind is refreshed. Some experts believe that short naps in the afternoon also help a lot in getting refreshed. The brain processes the information that we absorb in the wakeful period which helps to understand and memorise faster.
7. Communicate Your Schedule to Others. If phone calls are proving to be a distraction or the friends are knocking at your door at odd hours, tell your friends that you take social calls only at a particular time. It will help you to stick to your schedule and be more organized.
8. Become a Taskmaster. Make a proper schedule and figure out how much free time you have each week. Give yourself a time budget and plan your activities accordingly. This will help you to enjoy your free time with out any guilt pangs.
9. Don't Waste Time Agonizing. If by chance or due to unusual circumstances you do not stick to your schedule, do not worry over this.Do not waste an entire evening by worrying about something that you're supposed to be doing? Instead of agonizing and procrastinating, just get in to action and do it.
10. Keep Things in Perspective. Do not set very high goals or yourself. Be more practical and consistant. Setting goals that are unrealistic sets you up for failure. While it's good to set high goals for your self, be sure not to overdo it. Set goals that are difficult yet reachable. Consider these tips, but personalize your habits so that they suit you.
